THE CHANGING MOON

The Moon is so interesting, in part, because its appearance is constantly changing on a timescale which is short enough to observe easily:

• Every day, the color of the Moon changes from a yellowish-orange color at moonrise/moonset to a silvery-white color when the Moon is higher in the sky.

• Every month, the apparent shape of the Moon changes in a predictable cycle.
