A Four-Week Technology-Immersion Day Camp for Girls

After an incredibly successful 1995 program, Camp T-Equity returns to West Springfield High School for summer 1996!

About Camp T-Equity

The primary goal of Camp T-Equity (tek-witty) is to help increase girls' participation in science and mathematics through technology immersion in the earth and environmental sciences. These topics will be addressed:
There will be numerous guest speakers (women role models who routinely use technology in their professions).

Location and Time

Camp T-Equity will be held at West Springfield High School, in Springfield, Virginia, from July 22-August 14, 1996 (Monday-Friday, 9 AM-12 noon).

Prerequisites

No prior computer experience is required. The only prerequisite is an open-minded commitment to explore new ideas and new technologies, and a genuine interest in science and mathematics.

Enrollment

Enrollment is limited to 16 participants. Preference will be given to students who will be enrolled at West Springfield High School during the 1996-97 school year. Minority and economically disadvantaged girls are encouraged to apply. Financial assistance is available.

Cost

The fee for Camp T-Equity is $399 (includes all materials fees). Transportation is not provided.
