About Camp T-Equity
The primary goal of Camp T-Equity (tek-witty) is to help increase
girls' participation in science and mathematics through technology
immersion in the earth and environmental sciences. These topics will be
addressed:
- High-speed computer networking via the Internet
- Use of visualization tools to understand complex scientific data sets
- Analysis/interpretation of remotely sensed imagery, e.g., weather
satellite and weather radar imagery
- Use of interactive multimedia authorware to design/create
student-generated multimedia presentations
There will be numerous guest speakers (women role models who routinely use
technology in their professions).
Camp T-Equity meets at West Springfield High School (located in
Springfield, Virginia) from 8:00 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. each weekday from July
18-August 11, 1995.
All of the Camp participants will be students at West Springfield High
School during the 1995-96 academic year; as a result of their many requests,
they will retain access to this server so that they may continue to
send and receive e-mail as well as continue projects they started during
the camp.
Your comments are welcome (in fact, we'd love to hear from you!) Sign our
brand-new guest book so our students will
know that you've been here!
