with AMS Education Initiatives
Since 1984, Mr. Sanford has been involved with the American Meteorological
Society's Project
ATMOSPHERE, a K-12 outreach initiative designed to increase students'
interest in science, mathematics, and technology through the study of
real-time weather. Mr. Sanford serves as one of three "Atmospheric
Education Resource Agents" (AERAs) for the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Mr. Sanford also serves as Leader, Northern
Virginia Local Implementation Team for the AMS DataStreme Project, an
Internet-based distance learning graduate-level meteorology course.
