- The Mathematics of
Cartography
- Parents can get their kids "in the map habit" and learn the
fundamentals of geography with the new, revised version of Helping Your
Child Learn Geography. The 36-page booklet, free from the National
Library of Education, includes reproducible activities and games families
can share with elementary-age children. There's also information on
geography standards and geography-related software and Web sites.
- Color Landform
Atlas of the United States. Online maps of Virginia include shaded
relief, county, NOAA AVHRR satellie images, and Chesapeake Bay.
Postscript versions of the maps are available.
- Online Map Creation.
You may create maps interactively at this site. Fill out the form, submit
your entries and a page with the desired map will be returned to your
browser. In addition to standard map parameters, user has option to plot
plate boundaries and other plate tectonic features.
